There's a Pernicious Economic Theory Creeping into the Heart of the Democratic Party | Alternet

This is the key:  "It’s not a perfect history. But it’s no accident that the greatest period of shared prosperity in our nation’s modern history coincided with its highest percentage of unionized workers. Or that, conversely, inequality grew as union membership fell...."

No Democratic voice has spoken about the vote by workers in the NIssan auto plant.  Only Bernie, who is a independent, has spoken and it was only published in a British newspaper.  Where is Pelosi, Schumer, Perez, who are supported by the union movement, to give outrage at the behavior of Nissan before the unionization vote because companies will do anything to halt unionization of their workers.

If the Democratic leadership believes in having a strong middle class then they should be getting behind the union movement so that our corporate prosperity can be shared in a fair and equitable way with all Americans.  Now is the time for people to hold the Democratic party responsible for promoting unionization of American workers and not fall into the trap of the "dog eat dog" ideology of competing that Republicans and corporations espouse to suppress their voters and workers.
