Pew Survey: U.S. Favorability Declines Because Of Trump Leadership – Talking Points Memo

We won't have a "American brand" because the world's peoples will see us as "TrumpLand" instead. TrumpLand:  A land filled with gun violence and intolerant to the "Other".  A land whose people are bigots to LGBTQ, minorities, women and children.  A land that will be mercilessly exploited by Big Oil, Big Gas, and Big Coal.  A polluted landscape that sickens it's own people.  A people who build's the Wall that serves to keep people out but also is a wall to keep our people in.

The world look's on with horror at what we are doing to keep ourselves locked in fear and paranoia because we have lost who we are.  The energy that we have as a people is for constructive purpose or destructive purpose?  The world sees a nation descending into madness.  A colossal, unchecked military power.  Trump unshackles Big Military from civilian control because he can and wants Big Military to take responsibility for anything that goes "wrong".

Alone in the world of the 21st century because Trump sees the world as a hostile to his "Make America Great Again" idea of abrogating multi national treaties in favor of bilateral treaties ideal from Middle Ages, along with the 20th century ideals espoused by previous presidents of a world community guided by laws that exemplify humanities high minded goals of justice and equality.  A nation that is becoming manifestly unfit to lead because it's leader wants to lead only America not lead the world in confronting 21st century problems arising from anthropogenic climate change.

American will lose under the guise of TrumpLand.  No "homeland" can stand against the world.  Trump is causing geo-political to form that will leave our nation far behind both politically and economically.  As the peoples of the world view TrumpLand negatively then those college students, professors, scientists, and engineers will not come to TrumpLand but go else where to learn and exchange ideas and form personal relationships.

No amount of money used for technological innovations in the service of paranoia can make TrumpLand "safe".  The only "loser" is our nation's heritage and leadership to ourselves and in the eyes of the world in the new century.  The after effect will be that TrumpLand will become a second rate power in the new alliances forming as other nations leaders use a calculus without our nation as being a amicable power in all perspectives.

In the long term what will happen to America after TrumpLand?  Will this transformative change lead to a real paradigm shift that will benefit our people or will we descend further into a madness that we cannot escape from?

Supreme Court To Review Trump’s Travel Ban – Talking Points Memo

SCOTUS allows Trump to have a partial travel ban against foreigners.  Fear wins the hearts and minds of the new boy on the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch, along with Alito and Thomas.  Foreigners should immediately travel to other friendly nations rather then come to the land of rampant gun violence.

Improving the Health Care System

This is my thoughts on the Association of Medical Colleges advertisement:

"You read this and you realize that what AAMC is really saying that ACA is the first step for comprehensive healthcare for all Americans.  The Better Care Reconciliation Act is meaner to Americans by having back ending deeper fiscal cuts to Medicaid over ten years.  What Republicans want is to have your grandma on the street and not in a long term care facility because you can't afford the cost of that care on your own.

The advertisement by AAMC is not nearly strong enough and is not really effective because it is in print not on television.  Where are the billboards, radio, and Sunday morning talk show interviews by AAMC representatives?  Where is the Spanish language media buys?  The rush to pass the Republican senate plan means that large organizations like AAMC are caught flat footed because they are slow to react.

Maybe there is a hidden component of their lobbyists lobbying Congress.  But from what I've heard the Republican senators are not meeting with healthcare lobbyists to see what concerns the medical industry has with the rush to repeal ACA and replace it with the Republican's Better Care Reconcilliation Act (BCRA). "

Incoming GOP Chair of House Oversight Committee Says He's Completely Dropping Russia Investigation @alternet: The past GOP chair held hearings on the scandal, but Rep. Terry Gowdy is putting a stop to it. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who is taking over the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform from the departing Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), said on Friday that he will not pursue any investigation into Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election.

Republicans base their "budget" on the old Soviet economics model- having a first rate military while their population starves and infrastructure crumbles.

Time to stop this immediately!  Why not have bill boards, media buys, hand bills at all events being tabled by progressive groups to get the message out:  Republicans have sabotaged ACA and now they wanted Dems to support a bill that removes a Democratic law that aims to help people because the Republican bill takes away healthcare for people?  The bottom line should be is:  Republicans are taking away your healthcare and the Democratic party stands for keeping your healthcare.

In Yemen's secret prisons, UAE tortures and US interrogates

Trump said he would be complicit in torturing prisoners in the so-called "war on terror".  This report is clear evidence that he is carrying out his desire to torture human beings.  Must we, as a nation, continue to use torture?  Trump and his cohort should be investigated for this barbaric practice.  What is most disturbing is the fact that in a recent US Supreme Court ruling, which could be expanded to include "harsh" interrogation methods (i.e., torture), is that formed Bush administration officials cannot be held accountable for violating the rights of people swept up in raids immediately after 9/11 based on ethnicity and/or religious belief.

Joe Lieberman: This group's bringing common sense to Congress (Opinion) - CNN.com

The fact is that the main problem is Republican inability to govern.  Policies they promote are not inline with the American people's values from the healthcare debacle of the American Healthcare Act of Trump/Ryan to the pulling out of the Paris Accord for climate change.  There is no stomach for the destruction of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security in order to give the richest corporations and individuals trillions of dollars in tax cuts by the American people.

The commonsense of the American people is to halt the destruction of the middle class and poor people by Republicans eviscerating programs to help them- school lunch programs, Head Start, college student loan and forgiveness programs, capital improvement program for historic black colleges, cutting Planned Parenthood funding, allowing coal companies to dump their waste into streams, opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil development, reneging on police reform agreements by the Department of Justice, and so many other programs through rollbacks, defunding, or simply not hiring competent people to administer federal programs.

But Joe Lieberman is caught up int he canard "both siderism" and the fact that voters rejecting his outlook and policies at the ballot box.  He should read this:
