Trump's staff tries to 'talk him out of doing crazy things?' So this is the non-crazy version?

I can only imagine a mashup of Generals Jack D. Ripper and Buck Turgidson is Trump with the finger on the button to destroy America and the world.

Justices Alarmed by Government’s Hard-Line Stance in Citizenship Case - The New York Times

Trumpland over reach which would open up the possibility that if you are a naturalized citizen and fail to disclose a crime even if you hadn't been arrested is cause to revoke your citizenship.  This is classic "The Trial" type totalitarian bureaucratic madness in the service of reactionary nationalism.

Why House Republicans Seem Fine Risking Humiliation Again In Pursuit Of An Obamacare Repeal | The Huffington Post

Pathetic.  The Republicans should pass this monstrosity for their voters.  Telling their voters that this is what they voted for- a nation that let's its people die and suffer needlessly on their alter of "free market" ideology.  Their voters will bear the brunt of the Republican AHCA 2.0 passage into law.  The Republican motto:  Let Them Suffer.

Trump Tax Plan To Rely On Future U.S. Growth To Fund Cuts: Officials | The Huffington Post

Ha!  Gov. Brownback did the same argument for huge tax cuts in Kansas.  Guess what?  It doesn't work.  Kansas tax cuts left the state's finances so bad that Moody's down graded the credit outlook to "unstable".  The financial games that Republicans have done in Congress with the budget shows that Republicans, including Trump, have no interest in keeping America on sound finances.  For them it is always cutting taxes.  But government needs money in the form of taxes to function effectively.  It's just like a NASCAR racing operation.  If the racing car operation needs ten million dollars to field a consistent winning two car team then how well will that car operation run on only five million dollars?  Republicans have no financial acumen rather they are grifters.

DCCC launches ad to counter Republican attacks on Jon Ossoff

Of course the DCCC has to spend money on a negative ad buy.  Why not do the opposite and spend money on a POSITIVE mass media buy?  This is a losing campaign because people are sick of negative ads on mass media.  People are TURNED OFF by the candidate that only runs negative ads.

But the DCCC media consultants have a long history of raking in the money on losing campaigns.  If the media gurus look at the negative cyber media campaign of Trump's might find a few items of interest to play upon.  E.g., what kinds of media stories were fed to the Bernie Bros that caused them not to vote the top line name on the ballot?

Just sayin'.

Trumpcare 2.0 would make premiums spike for people with pre-existing conditions

Dumb (Ryan) and Dumberer (Trump) for trying to pass AHCA POS just to get even with President Obama.  Remember- a black guy is helping Americans to have healthcare but a bunch a white guys want to take away your healthcare.

The Continuing Fallout from Trump and Nunes’s Fake Scandal - The New Yorker

Republicans in Congress continue to cover for Trump and his administration over Russian contacts and cyber interference in the 2016 election.  Chaffetz may not be running for re election in 2018 but that only means other Republicans who place party before Constitution will continue to obstruct the Congressional investigations.

Trump invites industry to pick and choose which environmental, health, safety rules to drop

How many more people must be injured or needlessly die in the name of corporate profit?  Trump only cares about profit to the exclusion of all that makes America America!  Privatize our National Park system- sure!  Make sure that government is not paid fairly for Big Oil and Coal to extract oil and gas on public lands for merely pennies per barrel and per ton, sure.  The long haul drivers should work as long as they want because their employers only pay a pittance.  Why not privatize our roads so that we have to pay tolls every single time we use a road.

This is the insanity of Trumplanders who think the nation is a better place if corporations and the 1% can have maximum profit to the exclusion of all else.

Hurdles on the path to a solar-powered world | Cosmos

Technological progress will not be halted if the US fails to lead change.  Other nations will lead and create new industries while America will become a second class power that will have to import technologies.  There will be further negative consequences if the US does not lead in facing the next great extinction event which is a existential threat to humanity and all life on Earth.

Trump's abdication of having America lead in meeting Paris Accords for carbon reduction means that we will not be at the forefront of creating technologies that a). reduce carbon emissions in order to meet the 2 degree C. temperature limit and b). developing the necessary economics that foster job creation.  Extremely short sighted and dangerous.

Other nations will see what America under Trump is doing and there will be international consequences in the years to come.

Abbreviated pundit roundup: Trump's chaotic presidency continues with abrupt change in Syria policy

Actions speak louder then words.  A show of force without forethought as to the consequences.  He talks about kids and babies being gassed but the world knows of his plan to ban all Syrian refugees from our nation.  So in reality he is all for bombing Assad but he wants the people of Syria to stay in Syria.  A nation that is shattered by six years of warfare.
